BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING NOTES
January 5, 2010
 
PELIMINARIES: Call to Order, Roll Call, Public Meeting Announcement, Prayer, Salute to the Flag, Reading of Election Results.
 
SWEARING IN OF COUNCIL MEMBERS:
Judy Davis Dunhour and Joan Cramer were sworn in. Assisting was Sheriff Gary Shafer and the Borough Clerk
 
OTHER ORGANIZATIONAL ITEMS:
 1. Presentation of plaques to Brian Levinson and Karl Giulian (Karl was unable to be there).
 2. Barry Mastrangelo elected Board President
 3. Standing Committee heads for 2010-  Randy Bauer- Natural Resources
                                                                         Tom Cope-   Public Safety
                                                                    Joan Cramer- Utilities
                                                                         Judy Davis Dunhour- Beach and Recreation
                                                                         Barry Mastrangelo- Public Works
                                                                    Joann Vaul- Administration and Finance
4. Board and non board appointments made.
5. Mr. Cope elected as Council Representative to Planning Board
                                                  
ORDINANCES:
1. Ordinance 1352- Salary Introduction- 25% of total appropriations for the year- 1st reading, passed
2. Ordinance 1353- Zoning- exception to COHA related housing- 1st reading- passed
 
RESOLUTIONS
Twenty five Resolutions were presented and approved.
 
HEARING OF THE PUBLIC: 
Homeowner concerned about Beach and Bay situation. He wants a report on replenishment and Back Bay spoils.
 
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL MEMBERS
Existing board members thanked Brain and Karl for their years of service.
New board members thanked the voters and their desire to listen to the public.
Mayor announced:
            Filing of 5 million dollar FEMA claim for beach financing
            Site 103 received a $330,000 grant to look into offloading
            New tourism director, Joann Delvescio, on board with new programs and events
            Planning Board looking at shady tree ordinance
            Possible committee on preservation of historical community
