Hold Sept. 25 for Unique Joint Meeting of ROA and Borough Council!

The Realty Owners Association September General Meeting will be held at Borough Hall and will be followed by an official Borough Council Meeting. The Mayor and the full Council will conduct their regularly scheduled Tuesday meeting at this time to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the work of each committee.  People will be able to ask questions about Borough issues during the Public Comment part of the agenda. 

Come to Borough Hall at 8:30 for coffee and refreshments outside council chambers. The general ROA meeting begins at 9:00 am. and will include the introduction of seven new trustees and the presentation of the 2010 Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award. Stay for the Borough Council meeting that immediately follows.

OATHS OF OFFICE: Mr. Merle Lide was administered the oaths of office.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Planning Board will be reviewing all the local zoning ordinances. Mr. Carl Wannen will be representing the Zoning Board. If anyone has a suggestion please contact Mr. Wannen.

 The Stone Harbor  Board of Education Meeting was held  August 11, 2010

Passed was the Board Secretary Business Administrator Report, and the Warrants, plus the School  Administrator’s Report. 

During the Public Comments these people spoke:

Jean Tribulski spoke for the ROA to rescind the request to use the school gym in September.

Jane Hoy spoke opposing the school merger.  She feels the school is an essential part of the community.  Children who have experienced the school as is would not trade the experience.  Parents don’t want it to change.  They worked hard to bring in tuition students.

 

 The Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Annual Awards Ceremony for Business Person of the Year at a cocktail party on Tuesday, June 29 at 6:00p.m. at the Stone Harbor Yacht Club. You can buy tickets for $15.00 at the door for the two-hour party, cash bar, and hors d’oeuvres. Bill Burns of Bradley’s will be honored with the Jack Fitzpatrick Award.
