Beach Outfall Pipe Removal
The second phase of the removal of the beach pipes is scheduled for 2012.
A contract has been awarded and the following pipes are scheduled to be removed along with the appropriate adjustment in the water run off during 2012: Pipe at 97th street—Spring 2012---;Pipe at 93rd street—Fall 2012.
The work will begin in the Spring and then discontinued during the summer season with the remainder of the work scheduled for the Fall. It is our understanding that the Borough anticipates that the remaining pipes (Phase 3) will be scheduled for removal in 2013. However this needs to be included in the 2013 budget.
