At its June General Membership meeting, the Realty Owners Association of Stone Harbor (ROA) kicked off its first Photo Scavenger Hunt as part of its year-long 60th Anniversary celebration. The event is a family event to increase awareness of services, activities, and donations Stone Harbor civic organizations have made over the years. Contributions from the ROA, American Legion, Garden Club, Lions Club, and others are included in the hunt. ROA and non-ROA members were invited to participate as teams of one or more people in this fun, family-oriented event. In the end, 14 teams participated in the scavenger hunt. Each team was given a list of clues, such as “Ding dong and Coo Coo this does not. However, telling time it does on the spot.” which described the commemorative clock on 96th Street in Stone Harbor. The teams would then take a picture of the clock and would be judged based on correctness, number of people or animals in the picture, and artistic impression. Judging was to be held at the Stone Harbor Barbeque and Music Fest on August 1st.
